Well I had planned on doing a gaw when I hit the 1000 post marker, but got distracted and sort of blew past it.
Another member gave me the idea to do something a little different than a knife (wolfmann I think?). Anyway, here it is....
Rules: Out of respect for the platform, let's go with any level paid membership for at least 3 months, and at least 50 forum posts. Will send anywhere US Mail will land, but take no responsibility for any "lost in the mail" scenario once sent. Yeah, I'm lazy that way.
A simple "I'm in" will suffice.
The Goods:
1st Place: One (1) Oz of minted .999 Silver bullion, and choice of lanyard coil "bead" (for lack of better term).
Choose from clean or forced patina 1 oz bar, or combination of smaller rounds to 1 oz. Many may not like the forced patina, I just wanted to try something different to add to my knife display shelf, but they are kind of growing on me. They were actually pretty and shiny before marinating for a couple days in boiled egg yolk (now all clean and sanitized in case anyone wondered). Now they look pretty old, with some crazy color variations. You choose clean or patina, but I may pull from random mints (ie. Apmex, Scottsdale, Sunshine, etc).
The two silver coil beads were patina'd prior to edge grinding, and one of them (the top one in picture I think) has more black in the crevices than the other. Both started out as 12 ga. dead soft .999 jewelry wire, so I'm not sure how durable they may be in the long run. But I have had one I made a while back on a ZT and it has done great. The other is simply copper wire, can't remember if I pulled 12 or 14 ga.
2nd Place: One Half (1/2) Oz of .999 Silver bullion. Choice of clean or patina, in 1/2 oz coin or combination of smaller to 1/2. And choice of remaining two beads.
I know these are a little odd for a knife forum, but then I'm a little odd myself. I'll let it run for a couple of weeks then do the basic random number generator toward the end of the month.
