I cannot believe it, post 996. In honor of BladeForums, and all that it has given me; entertainment, friends, knives, and knowledge, all for a very nominal fee. I feel compelled to give back again. The give away strop will be the 4th one I made. You do not want the one in this picture (but it will be very similar) because I padded the leather side with cardboard prior to gluing and clamping. This left an undulation on the surface. Feel pretty dumb for even trying it. The give away strop will be perfectly smooth. The wood is oak, and the leather is Hand American from Wood craft, it is pre compressed and designed for stropping. It makes for a great strop. You may want to load it with compound or just use the bare leather.
The rules are as follows. Pick any number between 1 and 1000. I will do a random number generator to keep it honest. Closest guess without going over wins the strop. I will let this run til May 12, Tuesday night 7 PM Pacific time. That would be 10 PM on the east coast. This is open to all BF members. If there are custom issues about shipping leather out of the U.S. I will not send it, but if it will clear customs, I will ship it. I do not want to limit my thanks to all who contribute to such a great place.
