Winner selected....#37 Ohallum.

With this post it marks my 1000th here on BF. It has climbed pretty quickly since finding this little corner of the forum. I am truly thankful to have found the traditional sub-forum and the good people that frequent here. It is a rare place amongst the vast internet where civility and being a good neighbor still rule. The generosity shown here through numerous GAW's is equally rare. It has been a quiet little place to escape for me during the past year, which unknown to many here has been the most difficult of my life.

Recent other threads here got me thinking about Buck knives once again. So it is my intent with this GAW to juxtapose my two interests, those being knives and coins. The GAW consists of an older (no idea of age) Buck 110 in fantastic shape. This is a knife I acquired several years ago with a broken blade. I sent it to Buck and they cleaned it up and replaced the blade with a current one. The sheath is a custom that fits the 110 very well and has attached a genuine Buffalo nickel.

All I ask of those that enter is that they be a regular here in the Traditionals (I leave it to each of your own judgement if you feel you qualify). I would also like to see pics of your Traditionals and other interest if you have one. Let's keep it traditional centric though please, otherwise a simple "I am in" will suffice.

Here is what is offered. Let's call it two weeks give or take on the drawing date to be done by random number generator.

Not an entry sir, just wanted to say I admire the contributions you've made to this MOST civil of subforums. I'm sorry it's been a tough year for you, hope things start looking better soon. As for picture content, here's some of my favorite things:
v8s.jpg

-strong, black coffee (i think the coffee in the pic is some form of dark, Colombian goodness.)
-traditionals (duh) my Peanut
-my new-to-me Rogers/Koolsmoke pipe
-my bibble.

I'm in!

Thanks for this great give away opportunity! I have been wanting a buck lockback for a little while now. I used to have one when I was a kid in the 80's and it was one of my favorite knives. The wood grain on yours looks perfect to me, and that sheath looks incredible. The sheath would match my wallet/money clip with a buffalo coin.

Here are my new Opinel No.7 and the Italian briar tobacco pipe that was gifted to me from Doug Add. Tobacco pipes are a newly acquired interest of mine.

Not an entry, but that's a cool knife. A Buck 110 was my first knife. I "stole" it from my Dad, which, in retrospect, he probably knew about. That poor thing survived many episodes of young misguided adventures including common necessary "survival" tasks such as being thrown straight up into the air to see if I could stick the blade into the ground, as well as multiple attempts on a trees life by way of direct stabbing attack.

Oh good times...

Thanks for the memories. :)

BEAUTIFUL KNIFE!, well done on the 1000th post, Traditionals is THE best experience in I have ever had the pleasure of being part of ( in computer land ).
I am in, that's a stunner, I learned just how beautiful these knives are through Alex here, and my best friend - well I just had to prize his fingers open to get my knife back lol.

Good luck to everyone, and Mink-thank you, not just for this, for being a good part of our community.

Absolutely in!
Dont have pictures to show ya, sadly.

Congratulations on the milestone Mink and thanks for the giveaway. Perhaps strangely, I've never owned a Buck 110. That's a fine iconic knife, as well as a lovely sheath.

I'm a life-long lover of the great outdoors, of the moors and mountains, and rocks and wild places. In my younger days, rock-climbing was my pursuit of choice, and I still miss it. Here's a pic of my Bladeforums 2011 knife, gifted to me by Duncan, which for me sums up the spirit of this fine forum in every way. The photo is taken on a visit to one of my old climbing haunts, the scene of too many happy days (and nights) to count - Stanage Edge in the English Peak District, and at that point on the edge, it's about just on the Yorkshire/Derbyshire border.

Congrats on 1000 Mink and hope things turn around for you shortly friend! Thanks for the chance, I have never owned one of these iconic knives and would love a chance to try it out.

Knives are really the only hobby I spend money on these days, I have most everything else I need or want. But if I am not on here or even when I am most of my time is devoted to these three.....and I would not have it any other way :D

Not an entry but I wanted to stop in and say congrats on the post count! The Buck 110 is one of my favorite knives, such a classic! Glad to hear you find a little peace here and hope things turn around for you the next year. All the best, Trevor~
