Well the time has come and i believe this post will make my 1000th posts. I have learned alot and have very much enjoyed spending these last few months getting to know some of you. This is a great place with great people and id like to give back for all that i have received in form of knowledge and more. Being the holiday season i cant afford to give as much as id like to but that wont stop me from giving.
So in the spirit of Xmas and going along with giving to others, the way this will work is everyone gets 1 nomination. and you cant nominate yourself, the person with the most nominations wins! This way each person who participates does so by giving a nomination to another member on the board.
Since alot of us are into bushcraft and survival i thought it would be beneficial to put together a few things that can help you thrive in the wild. So the winner will get:
1st: My absolute favorite book on edible wild plants. This book is over 500 pages long with beautiful COLOR pictures and detailed information on identifying, harvesting and preparing wild edibles. I have seen alot of books on edibles but none has matched the quality of this book and most are in black and white which can make identifying difficult. The book is Natures Garden by Samuel Thayer.
2nd: An older book but still has some very good information, Wilderness Survival by Berndt Berglund. this book goes over survival psychology, firemaking, signals, shelters, traps, snares, hunting, fishing, butchering and dressing game, cooking methods, water, edible plants, clothing and equipment, camp implements, first aid, travel, maps and compasses, making cordage and knots and more. Its 175 pages with black and white illustrations.
3rd: 2 of "murphs" sharpening stones, about 15ft of paracord, And a small emergency ferro rod wrapped with over 10ft of snare wire. Paired with your favorite edc blade (not included) and this could make being stuck in the wild way more comfortable.
I hope some of you can benefit and learn from these books as much as i have learned and thank everyone who wishes to participate. The nominations will be open and run until December 14th and i will ship after the holidays because of the fuss with packages going missing and longer wait times.
