Hey Guys, i just got to 1000 posts, so I figured I would introduce myself.

My name is Ben Greenberg, I am 19 years old, and im addicted to wood. Most of you probably know me from my posts where I compiled 70 or so odd woods that are suitable for knifemaking and tried to give you a rough description of their characteristics. But I'm also a knife maker, and have been making knives for about 3 years. Since I started college in the fall, I have been focusing more on the wood aspect because I can do the work at home and sell the products throughout the year.

I wanted to say hi to everyone, and let you know to please let me know if you have any questions about woods. I have been working with and selling wood for about 5 years, in a professional shop, at home and on the internet. I stock over 50 species, and if I dont carry it I can probably tell you who does.

I'll be attending my first show june 25th in Brea California, check the california knifemakers association website for details!

P.S, Im going to be adding photos to my wood list. While I have many of the wood, if you would be willing to let me use your photos for the compilation of the list, that would be a huge help to me and everyone on the site.

Just got done reading through your wood list and wanted to say thanks. That's a lot of info to aquire as a 19 year old. Very impressive. You're also the first one to slap my hand in an online forum lol. Keep up the good work and while I haven't purchased from you yet I will be doing so in the future.

Hey Ben,
Where is your list posted? I am looking for some info on Zebra wood and Morado (Bolivian Rosewood). In particular, do these two benefit from stabilizing?

Thanks,
TR

Congrats on 1000 post Ben Greenberg!

And thanks for posting the wood list; it's my favorite handle material!

Bruce
