Hello. I recently purchased a fixed blade Kerhsaw knife model 1010BK and I don't know anything about it. I am hopping you guys can help me out. It appears to be exactly like the regular 1010 with the red plastic but the red plastic is black on this knife. The finish on this knife is bead blasted instead of polished like the regular 1010. Also the sheath is made of cordura rather than leather and this sheath has a fold over flap and inside the flap is two zippered pockets for storage of small items. Once the flap is folded over and fastened down by the velcro patch there is a belt and buckle system that also holds the flap closed. Any info is appreciated in advance. Thanks,,,VWB.

This is the sawback model, right? I've never seen or heard of one with black plastic liners, and I'd venture a guess that the sheath is aftermarket of some type.

Can you post some pics of it?

The sheath has Kershaw sewed onto it. I will try to post some pics.,,,Thanks,,,VWB.

That's a new one on me, but I really like it!

I'm sure someone here will know the story.

We have an answer! (Or is that a guess, too? :D)

I believe this is a variation of the 1010 offered in all black and ballistically-like.
All black, cordura sheath, and blasted blade to cut down on the shine. ??
If I'm correct, the steel is the same as the 1010. AUS-6A
It is no longer available in all black with the cordura sheath,
only it's current form with red trim and black leather sheath.
