101st Airborne Buck Strider B888

I have just found this item at eBay :-

The seller stated only 50 of this knife were made.

I would be grateful if someone could enlighten me about the background of this knife. Is it actually made for the members of 101st Abn. ?

Any information is much appreciated.

LOL...looks almost like someone did it at home themselves! Silk-screened the logo and used an engraver...probably not, though.

Specs for the knife are the same as the regular production model.

It wouldn't surprise me. I purchased a Buck/Strider tanto folder and after getting it noticed some faint markings on the blade. Turns out it was from a run of knives done for the El Cajon SWAT team where the knives were laser engraved. My blade had then been refinished to remove the markins but very faint traces were left. Buck was kind enough to replace the blade for me, but it was interesting to find out the story behind it. I wonder if this is something similar or if it's a standard limited run made for public distribution?

Buck does offer custom laser engraving on the Buck/Strider Solution. It could be legit.

Does that Solution have the newer hollow ground? I have yet to see one of the latest style Solutions.
