102 rehandle, again

Some time last year I acquired a broken handled 102 from a forum member and rehandled it in stacked leather, it came out better than I had done before but reusing the original aluminum fittings on a Buck has proven difficult for me.


I already have a standard unmodified 102 that I like so I figured why not do something really different than this one.


I present to you the 102 Vest pocket Bowie.


Nothing crazy here, just a brass guard and walnut handle.

It's hard to beat the feel of the 102 as is, but I do think this looks cooler.
I don't imagine this being as good if you were hunting with it, but an EDC role is where it'll shine.

I can see that.

Funny enough I just went by what looked right when doing this, I checked and it somehow came out identical in length to a standard 102 handle.

I need to get some more leather and make a sheath for it, but for the time being it can live in this sheath that I made for another knife.
