Have had this set for years and the 102 has what looks like a Ducks Unlimited medallion. It's pretty worn and I am no expert on DU articles.

Any thoughts confirming or otherwise?

Looks to me like someone added that medallion. Not done by Buck Knives. IMO.

The medallion was done after market and probably because the original owner enjoyed the look.

If it was mine I would sell the 102 for whatever I could get or just use it. I would find another 102 with the same blade stamp to replace it with. Than you would have yourself a nice original 104 set.

That emblem is a "Ruptured Duck" - a lapel pin given to service members when they returned to the USA from overseas duty in WW-II. It was issued at discharge - someone made that knife up for a WW-II Vet. OH

Hunter, thanks. Looking up a better photo of it, I can see that's what it is. I recall seeing my Father's pin on his lapel. That pin predates the knife by 20 years. Someone liked that knife Twin Set to put that on it. DM
