I just finished this blade made from 1045 steel from a 1 inch shaft. I differentially hardened it using the clay method, and quenched it using gunters super quench. It's done in a hybrid polish, and i used ferric chloride to bring out hamon. Pictures aren't the greatest but best i could do. It is my second blade and i hope to improve. The sheath is made form soft leather, with same ray skin on top. I also did a katana blade in the shobu zurkiri style and hope to post finished pics.

This is a knife I would probably have to see up close to know if I like it or not. From what I can make out from the images there are some things I like, but I'm not sure I care for the Habaki. Then again, up close it might look great.
