That is an awesome looking knife Armand, nice score! Wish I lived in the land of the trophy Bucks like you;). I only get to hunt on-line:(

I don't often care for handles with mixed materials. Some just don't seem to go well together, but your knife is not like that at all...

That is a terrific looking knife  Very classy

What other knives did they make in that series ?

That is a nice 105. I suspect yours may be a build-out. Harolds original release of 100, had the 105 with a serrated blade and the blades were numbered. I also remember some confusion on the first 1 or 2 knives. The 102s showed up missing a rear spacer in the handle, and there was something w/ the next released 105s, it may have been no serrations, when they were supposed to have them

You got it, Scott. Here's what Harold had to say about these at the time:

Oct. 2, 2003 – Model 105’s Made in Error (Wrong Blade)

I just received a call from Billy Bates, at Buck Knives, and I was informed they used current Stamped Blades rather than the Anvil stamped Blades on the 105. The error was caught before the Partial Serration was put in the blade. These will not be serial numbered or have my Logo on them. I should be able to buy them to lower the price, because of their error, so I will sell these at a great discount. Billy said it would be cost prohibitive to rebuild them so hopefully we can get you some great knives to give away as Christmas Presents this year. (They will be making the 105 the correct way but not likely to be ready by the 15th as scheduled).
I am negotiating a special price on these errors so they can be sold to only those who have bought the other models in my exclusive project. We do not want these to get out to the public or to be sold at the Buck Store so I am taking orders from those who may be interested. I want only those who are buying my series to have total control on who gets these 105 errors. I will be keeping some as gifts and had two requests for extras 105's so there will only be about 90 available. The first ones to express an interest will get them. You can have as many as you want so do not delay getting me an order.
Billy Bates is to get back with me on a price, hopefully today, so only those who reply, expressing an interest, will be informed about the exact costs for these errors. This is only a guess at this point but I hope your cost will be $90.00 or less for these errors. It just depends on how generous Buck Knives will be on this Mistake. All I need to do is cover my costs to get them here and then to you. Maybe this 105 Error will be a good thing for all of us in the long run. Most times the Screw up's bring more money than the correct ones.

Thanks Scott, for the info on this one... I'm glad it doesn't have a serrated blade like the others in the set... I like it just the way it is... A Build-out for $75, I think it was a good deal... Thanks again... ITE ...

Thanks RLF, for all the info... $90 was a good deal even for these 105s...

Pack Rat, Wow what a beautiful set... I wish I had one... Thanks for posting pics for all us to see it... ITE ...:thumbup::thumbup:

I've got the 121. I really llike the look of this. I envy Pack Rat having the whole series.

Mike, what number is your sweet 121??? I really like the 121, 102, 105 and the 124...

Thanks for sharing... ITE ...:thumbup::thumbup:

Nice! Armand...As hard as you work to find them you still were lucky on that one! I have seen very, very, few ever for sale..I have a vague memory of a folder that looked close to that for sale back in 2007 or 2006 when I first started looking at E;bay....

Hi.

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the first and third knives in this pic?

Thanks.

First one is a 116, 2nd and 3rd are both 102's. Like Scott said in his post, one of the 102's was missing a spacer. This set of 10 included one of those 102's. I believe these sets normally have only 9 knives.

Scott knows way more about this set than I do. :D

These are all serialized. The overruns don't have serial numbers. If singles have serial numbers someone has probably broken up a set.
