I need some help with my next purchase. I love the older 440C knives and want to add a larger fixed blade. I have the 102 and my favorite 116 Caper. I would like to add a 105 or 121. I am familiar with the 105 but really like the 121. I have been unable to locate a 121 to handle so I need some help. Any thoughts or side by side pictures would be a great help! Knife will be a general use knife in outdoors nothing heavy duty, I have a larger Kabar for that. Thanks!

I would recommend the 105 over the 121 for general field duty. In my opinion, it is a little stouter blade and would be more useful as an all-rounder. Good luck.

Upon reading and thinking on this, I would agree with Sharp. I have both and would not us my 121 for general outdoors duty. It's more of a bait knife, processing, quartering type knife. The blade is thinner and it cuts well with just a small amount of flex. Whereas the 105 has less length 5'' vs 6" but it has no flex. It is stronger for general duty. DM

I concur with Sharp and David. I like both the 105 and the 121. Given the choice, the 105 will be on my belt all day, and the 121 will be in camp/back home for special tasks as David mentioned.

I think of my Buck 121 mainly as a top quality filet knife - the Buck 105 is a general purpose outdoorsman's knife. The Buck 121 worked well breasting this turkey. OH

I must say the 105 has been on my radar foe a few years. Not sure why I haven't bought one yet. I love the lines of the blade.

The 105 is just about perfect for everything. Buck sure used it a lot in their advertisements.
