BCCI members (happy to be a life member) were treated to an opportunity to own this newest 106 in the December 2015 club newsletter: Compadre Brahma Axe (cool tang stamp)

There have been other versions over the years. I'll post pics of two of my favorites after today's chores.

Anyone have a 106 that pulls your bell rope?

I like the originals with the aluminum pummels.

I am really thinking about this one. I think we have till 12-30-15.

I was holding off on the 119 Brahma but after seeing this club offering for the 106 I think I will need the matched set, so to speak.

If Darth Vader wore a 106 on his utility belt next to his light saber it would be the one above I'm pretty sure. Nice and black. Yup.

Here is a red head (Burgundy Micarta). One that is shown at the flooded Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge (urban wildlife refuge) walking distance from my homestead in the woods here in this neck of the woods.

Here are photos some of the earliest Buck rendering axes from Joe Houser's (he will claim his wife's) collection. What an exciting treat to have seen their terrific collection at OKCA over the years. I hope that you return to Eugene in 2016 Joe:

This might be Pandora's box. The Brahma 119, the forthcoming 117, and the axe (although it's a BCCI special). Your "matching set" might grow to include the 102, 103, 105, 118, 120 & 124.

Think I'll stick to the Axe; maybe.

Great Pictures Oregon... We are going to do a 106 SPS, real soon...

It's on the list to do... I'm going to come over and check out this

Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge as so as I can...

I like the 117 and 106 for sure... But I need the New Selector first...

I love that red head micarta, still need to get one...

:)

Heh, I was going to suggest the axe for a SPS but did not think there were that many. Many more older than newer. That is a great set of pics oregon!!
And thanks badhammer for the date correction...I think I will.

Oregon, a great accompanying of wildlife pictures. I was glad you showed the sheath on the early 106. I have that axe but we haven't seen a Bald Eagle in a while. Thanks, DM

To be honest I've never really given the Buck axe any thing but a causal glance. I'm not sure why but I havent. I may have to reconsider that.

Pics taken on the left of the clubhouse. The remainder of the place is entirely under water! Spotting scopes available inside pointed at the water and eagle for everyone.

Thank you for the kind words. The rendering axes have an attraction all their own for me. The Micarta handled ones in particular.

I think that is the male. Smaller of the two. The female is quite a bit larger and domineering. The only wildlife left in the refuge alive can swim. The remainder have either escaped, floated away or buried themselves deep deep deep. The eagles have their table layed out before them. Duck on the menu today. Yum!

I've never looked back after Evil Eyed Earl sent me one of his black Micarta 106s with sheath years ago now. There are opportunities on the open market to acquire so these are heady days for axe afficianados. Good times.

Oregon just wanted to say I sure did miss your pics. Glad you are back!!!

You where that kind of talk is gonna get you. Uh huh. Yup. That's right. More pics! And thank you. This National Wildlife Refuge was once a dairy farm. It is on the Tualatin River floodplain. The last time it flooded was 1996 and I happened to be driving along the highway 99W in front of the dairy when the herd was being driven to higher ground stopping traffic. There are trails, overlooks, signs, maintenance roads, water control features and maybe even equipment under the water you see here.
