Hi Guys,

Just finished up a new knife.

1075 Steel (HT by Hills)
Hand finished to 1200
Thickness: 2.5mm at widest point with lots of distal taper
Blade Length: 135mm
Blade Width: 32mm
LOA: Just shy of 250mm
Full flat grind
Green Canvas Micarta and Nickle Silver pins.

The handle is a bit off on this one. It had a index finger choil/gaurd and didnt feel right. So I ground it off and now the first pin isnt exactly centered. Other than that I am pretty happy with it.

Comments and critism highly welcomed!

ps The wood that it is sitting on for the photos is Sandalwood.

Very clean, nice work.

Looks good. Was there a specific use you had in mind when you made this or is intended to be general utility knife? I ask only because the shape of the blade doesn't scream kitchen knife to me.

It was going to be a camp use knife, but it had a finger choil/gaurd that didn't come out right after heat treat. So I ground it off and made the blade thinner. As a result its a bit to thin to use in the bush but should hold up to my missus butchering stuff in the kitchen.

I know its not ideal shape for kitchen knife but shouldn't be to bad.

I have a knife similar to the one you made that I use in the kitchen all the time. When I need a heavier duty knife...it is the one I grab. This one looks useful for the same type of work.
