1080-C Steel?

Anyone know anything about this steel? I have never heard of it before. How does it perform against other tool steels?
 
As in 1080 Carbon steel?

Never tried it. Would expect it to be a bit tougher than 1095 with somewhat reduced edge retention compared to 1095. Would make a dinkum chopper.
 
Ditto what knarfeng said. I've seen various 10xx steels with C postfix, but it always turned out to being an alias for AISI 1080 steel, never an actual alloy with different composition from 1080.

Well, if you wre asking for makeup then here- 1080 steel composition.
