1084 availability

I have been told that 1084 is not being made anymore and I am unable to find 1/4" 1084. Does anyone know where I may find some? Admiral only has 1/8"

Just forge three of four pieces together to make the 1/4", or use 1095.What are you doing with it?

Making some big knives, I can forge them together, I've seen som 1/4"before, but I guess it's all gone. Thanks

My stock of 1084 will dwindle away eventually. Everyone I have talked to who has used the replacement, 1080, has said they have noticed little difference, either in forging or the heat treatment.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that. I've always been stock removal with ats34 in the past, I'm just setting up a forge for the first time, and will be using 10XX for the first time. It always seemed like I was missing something by not forging. The 120' I have coming from Admiral will be good to use with 15N20, and I was hoping 1080 would be as good as I have heard 1084 is for forging. Alot of knifemakers I know love 1084.
