1084 & ironwood

The only thing I dont like is that I think you could have made the blade a little longer and the (Riccasso area I believe it is) smaller. Otherwise I like it.

Thanks, the area your looking at is one I've been a little unhappy with also...the next one will be better...I hope ;)

Your knife looks good except for the long dead space as B74 pointed out. Nice blade shape and good looking handle. Ironwood??

Thanks, handle is ironwood with a small buffallo horn spacer....I'm always trying to refine designs. I have a few more blades that need to be finished, so I'll try again soon.

I agree about the ricasso being a bit long, unless you want it that way to "choke up" on the blade for fine work. In that case, a bit of convex grind on the profile of the ricasso would be more comfortable for your first finger.

Regardless, it's a classic design and very well executed. Nice work!

Agree with above. I love the handle but for some reason it looks naked without a lanyard hole. I would place it between the three pins on the right.

Kricket you should send me that one and I'll test it out for ya:D . And then send me one with a shorter ricasso and I'll compare em.:D

The first thing I thought was that I liked the transition at the base of the sharpened edge and the long unsharpened area, guess I'm weird.

I also noticed the shadow of the GIGANTIC head:D

The handle looks like it would be very comfortable in the hand, and I like the pin work.
