1084 Powder

Indian George

I hope I am not sending you on a wild goose chase.
I just recieved my order of 1084 steel and 15n20 from kelly cupples
www.oxarc.com welding and industrial supplies.

He may have what you are after. He was very helpfull he posted to Australia very prompt replys to emails. Treated me very fair and well.

He cut the product to my requirements very impressed. I hope 1084 powder is related to the metal.

I am very excited to recieve my 15n20 now I just have to wait until June to roll it. That will kill me. I may have to lash out and hammer some the hard way.

Hey, George, you old fart reprobate biker scum,

Here's the guy I just bought some from before I learned that Kelly was carrying it:

Bryan Lerch
262-617-7929
bmlerch@uwm.edu

He lives outside the Milwaukee area, and his pa is a knifemaker.

Pricing, availability:

1084 powder (a coarse powder, about like sand, not shot-peening material) $2/pound plus shipping

4600A (2% Nickel low-carbon) $2.50/ lb plus sh.

4800A (4% Ni low carb. same price)

It comes packaged in 1 gallon paint cans (20 lbs)or a small plastic bucket, depending on quantity. Buxton has been using it successfully, plus any number of other makers. The best bet I hear is to mix the stuff 2:1 1084: Ni-bearing for INSIDE the cookie cutter to give it some carbon.

Hope that helps.....

I'm very sorry, MISTER OFRBS. Sorta, at least:D :D
Hope you find what ya need, bud. Stop into Paltalk soon so's we can harass each other.
