does any one know were I can get 1084 round bar stock in a small quantity?

1084 is normally flat stock. Round stock is available in many steel types, but if you want a hardenable steel that you can get in several round diameters cheaply, go to Fastenal. They carry O-1 and W-1 in round stock by the foot. There is probably one in most fair size towns, and of course yo can mail order from them.

It would help to know what is the size desired and the purpose for the steel?

I need some for forging, around 1' lengths,1080 would also work.

I may have some 7/8" and some 1" hex stock on hand in 1080. Let me know if you would be interested and I'll look and see what I have. I could part with a few feet but not more than 3'.
