1095 Damascus knife blanks?

This damascus seems decent: 1095 steel, 57-60 hardness, etc.

However there has been much ambiguity about Damascus steel in general. Is this knife/ knife maker real? Fake? A working knife? Phony display knife?

I want to slap on some handles and a sheath and have a functional piece of 1095 steel and the beauty of Damascus. Should I go for it?

Not sure this is correct forum for this but if you want quality blanks try Jantz Knife Supply or Texas Knifemakers Supply. IMO the Damascus blades at Jantz are great quality. they are made in Oklahoma and have wide selection.

What mwschilling said. Also Alabama damascus, they may be the maker of the Jantz blanks.

The blank at Amazon is likely from Pakistan or India...

I bought 2 said "damascus" blanks from amazon, they are pakistan BS, won't even take an edge.
