Just finished this 1095 S/E (survive/escape) utility knife.

Knife Specs:
1095 with hamon .120x 5" drop point w/false edge 10" OAL
Desert Ironwood handle
Handrubbed finish 600 grit on bevel, flats where beadblasted and stonewashed.

Sheath specs:
Felt lined kydex drop leg rig
1" MIL-SPEC nylon webbing, "Stealth" buckles, fastners for rigging
SAR "Firewalker" device.
Fire steel handle is desert ironwood
pace keeper is kangaroo leather on a rawhide lace
Classic pocket compass by "Marbles" cuterly
Firewalker held in place by a SAR "O'rigging (rubber O rings)

Total weight for entire set-up is 10.1 oz's

I have 3 more to finish before G2 in Vegas and the outlook is pretty good. Yes leather would be better..but I don't do leather yet and I do not like to send out my blades for other folks to work on. The felt is silicone inpregnated and is very durable. I have a knife that I have been using for 3 years in a felt lined sheath 0 issues.

Thanks for looking
SPencer

Very nice Sir. Looks very comfy in hand, and that Ironwood is top notch. Me likes !

Cool bro, I was wondering when I'd get the chance to see how it turned out. Looks like it all went according to plan!

Hey Matt yea they all came out pretty well. I am working on the second sheath for the other one which was done in ironwood with a little better hamon IMO. The blade on the bottom one is 3/4" shorter.

The other 2 are getting some nice stag I have set aside and a different compass set up.:thumbup:Thanks for your time on the phone and the solid information on 1095.

Roger thanks for your comment.

Spencer - Those are just perfect.

The blade profile and finish are perfect. The grinds are perfect. The ironwood and blued fasteners look perfectly stunning. That sheath set-up and firesteel look perfectly functional. And, as a total package it looks like it'll be the perfect user for generations to come.

I've never been a fan of cydex sheaths, but you did something(not sure what) to this one that is quite appealing.

I really like those.... top one the best.

Thanks for showing these.

I'd say they turned out fantastic - and it's always great talking with another knifemaker. Going to have to make it a point of having a get-together with some other makers, I think. Be good, and keep in touch!
