1095 Scandi Full Tang?

I have this Mora Robust, which I think is 1095, and I love the knife, great size and although a bit skinny, great blade, really easy to sharpen, and holds its edge perfect for me.

I'd really like a full tang, with a slightly thicker blade, but still scandi grind preferably.

Can anyone recommend something?

All I can find that is close is the D2 Enzo Trapper but D2 isn't 1095. Or a Esee 3 or 4 but neither are scandi obviously.

How hung up are you on 1095? Most 'carbon steel' performs about the same, provided that the knifemaker knows what he's doing.

There are a lot of Bushcrafter style knives out there with carbon steel and scandi grinds. Blind Horse Knives, or whatever the original company is named now, had great scandi ground Bushcrafters. Bark River has convex scandi ground versions of their Linten Bror, Gunny, and several others that have full tangs and A2 tool steel or better.

Enzo Trappers are also made in O1 - a superior steel to 1095. I've seen unmounted Trapper blades for $40.

Huge thanks for this! I had no idea Enzo did a carbon other than D2. I'm going to check out the other few mentioned, but I know a guy who sells the enzo blades and that's sounding really appealing right now.

I'm not hung up on 1095, just how it doesn't chip at all for me, strength/softness and ease of sharpening. I rather sharpen more often and easily than have an edge for ages and more difficult sharpening/chipping problems.

:D I can get the Trapper in O1 with a kit to make your own scales (birch wood) for $50.

Thanks for putting me on to this.

If you can live with 1075 instead of 1095, you could take a look at the Condors. IIRC the Sapien was designed in response to folks who wanted a full-tang carbon steel Mora. They have a few other knives that you might also want to look at. I think TOPS has some Scandi-grind knives, and they are in 1095.

Esee RB3 slated for distribution in early 2015......

The only thing I can think of is the TOPS mini neck knife. Which you can buy for around $60-$70. Or you cab get the TOPS B.O.B knife which is around $130. You can find them on amazon

I've seen the BOB for as low as $110. The Enzo still seems like more knife for less cash.

I love my Spyderco Bushcraft. It is O1 tool steel with black G10 handles and scandi grind. It's a fantastic blade. If you look at reviews of the knife you may find some bad ones but that is only because there earlier model had wood burl handles that sometimes broke. The G10 version is awesome and I use mine more than any other knife. It is a bit thicker then my Mora HC but it performs like a champ.

If you want Scandi take a look at the leukus and puukkos of the Scandinavian and Nordic makers. They're available in the U.S.

Of coure.. I got this deal at knife/gun store I frequent, he has no internet (this is France!) but its not a special offer. You can get it at brisa.fi by navigating to enzo and then basic enzo kits and select o1, its the same price. I ended up buying one with a different wood kit and a sheath for 65$.

You have to shape the handle and make your own sheath for 50...

In the US, check out DLTtrading, Thompsons and Ben's Backwoods. DLT had the $40 bare blades.

Of course, you can some really nice Scandi stick tangs for less than $15. That's a fun project.

Went back and looked more at Brisa. Once you create an account you can see the US prices with VAT. Shipping to the US starts at $14 and the prices are excellent enough that Brisa is the best deal for Scandi blades and knives going.
