2019 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Yellow Rose knives made by Great Eastern Cutlery.

Hopefully, we will see one or two more Yellow Rose patterns this year in addition to the 97 Allegheny. And hopefully, GEC will commemorate the 10th Anniversary with a blade etch or tube label or button or some such. Pretty please! :)

Great Eastern produced the first Yellow Rose in 2009.

Since then GEC has produced one or more Yellow Rose knives every year except 2016 and 2018... there were none produced those years.

All Yellow Rose knives are Northfield branded.

The vast majority are regular production runs. There have been two SFOs... one in 2010 and another in 2014.

To date, over 2,000 Yellow Roses have been produced in 16 different patterns and in 35 runs.

They've been made with:

even Left-Handed versions

Lock Release Lever

and No Lock....

More fun facts:

- There can only ever be, at most, 4 complete collections of the Yellow Rose Series.

- Yellow Rose Patterns to date: 23, 35, 42, 53, 56, 57, 63, 65, 66, 72, 73, 74, 76, 81, 83, 97.

- There was at least one Run with no Yellow Rose etch.

- Production Run Totals range from just 4 to over 800.

- There are 1-Blade, 2-Blade, 3-Blade, and 4-Blade patterns.

- Closed length ranges from 3 3/8 inches to 4 3/4 inches.

As always, Show 'em if you got 'em...

A really great post Al..... You have added another niche to the knife collecting passion..... My wallet isn't happy with you right now!!

Al, VERY nice collection. I got my first Yellow Rose #97 a few days ago. Now I'll be looking for more. Hoping they'll put out one or two more this year as you stated above

Thanks for that interesting and informative history on the series, Al! I don’t have a single Yellow Rose GEC (yet ;)), but I live always thought they were good looking knives. I think I like ‘em best in the single blade patterns, your 73’s, 74’s and such.
