Here's an 11 inch Bowie in W-2, with hamon and Desert Ironwood frame handle.

The blade has a hint of recurve, and the hamon is an ongoing exercise at painting with clay.

The guard, accent spacers, faceted pins, and multi-piece file-worked frame are stainless, while the vine file-worked collar is damascus.

This is off to Paul today for a sheath, then away to it's new owner.

Excellent! And for what it's worth, wood is good! I treasure my hand-picked Desert Ironwood almost as much as my ivory. You put together a fine combo.

Very nice, love the stainless frame, alot less likely to stain or rust from hand sweat.

That kicks a$$. Beautiful looooong blade, gorgeous sculpted handle. The sheath should round out a first class package.

Very nice! I really like the handle shape. It looks like the handle on the smaller camp knife you had in SA a few months ago. Very comfy in the hand. :)

John,

That's a beautiful hamon. Looks like your art with clay is a big success. When I see hamons like this it inspires me to work some of Don's W2 that has been setting on the shop floor for the last several months. Very nice!

What was your quenching medium?

Gary

Very nicely done John. I love the faceted pins, mind letting us in on how you do them??
Cheers Bruce
