I'm on the verge of trading with a gentleman who has two knives for me to choose from. One is a cqc-11 BT, the other is a cqc-13 BTS. Both knives are like new. I've owned the 13 before and liked it alot, but I'm not a big fan of the combo edge. I've only held the 11 and it was a long time ago. I noticed the 11 only has two screws per side, where as others, including the 13, have three screws per side. Why would that be?
If the 13 was PE, I'd go for it for sure based on style preference, but I'm leaning towards the 11 simply due to it's edge type. -Should the two screw per side construction give me any reason to avoid the cqc-11? The knife will become my go-to large folder, and see occational hard/work related use. Anyone own both that can give me anything else to consider? I know that the 11 would offer a sturdier tip, but other than that.
I'm usually able to make decisions like this by myself:confused:, but I appreciate any thoughts/opinions. Thanks

If it was me I would be all over the 11. I am not crazy about the blade on the 13 it is a bowie type if I am not mistaken. I would not be afraid to use the 11 just as if not harder then the 13, You are getting an Emerson. If its not right Mr Emerson will make it right.

Id get the 12 :p

If the 13 has a combo edge that would be a bit of a turn off for me but would be my first choice other wise.
The 11 is a good knife too and if its a plane edge then all the better but i dont like recurves so.....

i would get the '13, i have 2 myself (one production & 1 custom FWIW) and i edc my custom '13 and like it a lot, have never been crazy about the '11 myself, nothing wrong with it, just not one of my favs.

I just bought a 13 and think it is an excellent knife. My experience with Emerson knives is that they all have well sized, ergonomic handles and good blade shapes. Can't go wrong with either one, IMO.

Thanks for the input, fellas. I think I'm gonna go with the 11. The combo edge of the 13 is the deal breaker in the end.
