Good Day my BF Family..

""11 Years Of Sobriety ""

Well I just looked the date..
Holy Crap..
March 24 2015
was my """11 Years of Sobriety""
Lets break it down..
Small Synopsis--
A true drunk (like my Biological father)
at AGE of 20
Business owner with my Brother at age 22
Built and remodeled house successfully
for 10 years..Oh and a functional drunk..
Out of business in the 1990s
Still a drunk..
7 Rehabs..
Dozens of attempts at sobriety..DOZENS...
Lived in a Homeless shelter in South Bend IN for over 1 year
Humbling...Had family and help..BUT after you burn bridges..
They love you..BUT they gave tough love and didnt help.
Many more attempts at sobriety
Married 1 year..Divorced 2 days after my 1 year anniversary
Lived in 6 Recovery Houses..After treatments.
God PUT my current wife of 10 years in my life...
Met my wife...After I got sober..
Oh and donated a kidney to my wife 2 years after..GETTING and LIVING the
true meaning of the life SOBRIETY..
Went to Culinary school ..Got a BA in Culinary Management..
Long and the short of it is....
You can get sober if you really truly want it ""MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE""
More than your job--More than your family..I MEAN EVERYTHING..
All those things..Family-Job--Respect from others--Will return after
you commit to getting your life where it needs too be..
And sometimes family-Jobs--etc..DONT RETURN..It is the nature of the the destruction
you left behind you. YOU must suffer the consequences of your past..

More will be revealed everyday you are truly from the heart sober.
Good and Bad stuff will happen..Its how you handle that stuff will you
become the PERSON you like to look at in the mirror again..
ITS never too late..NEVER stop trying..
I got sober in my 30s..
I go to AA Mtgs every week. (I enjoy them)
I give back with expecting nothing in return..
Be good too yourself-- Give yourself a break..
Never ever give up..
Enjoy what you have..You get out of Sobriety what you put into it..
I am honored to be sober..To be here with my wife and my family..AND
to be a apart of this OUTSTANDING community for the many years I have
Been involved.
Thank you all for having me..
IF anyone..I MEAN Anyone..Needs an ear..Or needs to talk..Email me anytime..
We can exchange information and if you wish to talk.. I will BE HAPPY TO
help in anyway I am able..

Your life is an amazement. I have lived long and seen many struggle. Few could have told this story. You so deserve to celebrate your life. :) Congratulations.

Congrats fall short on your accomplishment IMHO, much more than that.

You are the man Gizmoman!!! Congrats to you and to your family for this outstanding achievement. Keep going...never give in. As you know it's a war where your enemy will strike you down again if you ever let yourself get weak or let your guard down. But you are stronger than that. You've already achieved the most difficult parts. Again, you're the man!! All the best -

Damn, Man! What a life you've led! And what a happy ending to a sad beginning. Congratulations for pulling it together, and may you for the end of your life remain sober, grateful, and happy!

Good on ya Keith.
16 years and 8 months today for me.
I like to call it my "other" birthday.
Because it truly is.

Again, good on ya and as my pops would say… keep up the good woik.
