110/112 pivot question

I’d appreciate some clarification about how the pivots are put together. I’ve always believed that they used a straight-through pressed in pin, but lately I’ve seen comments the ends were peened or expanded in some way. What’s the truth here? Has it changed over time?
 
I did see that. Unfortunately, it cast some doubt on my long standing belief of a simple press fit.
 
Thanks Tecate! I’ve watched it in slo-mo several times and it looks like plb might be correct after all. I plan to watch a few more times to be sure.
 
I believe the factory press swells the end of the pins to prevent blade wobble and spreading of the bolsters if the blade is used for prying. Here's a link that may be useful.


Also, here's an image of a factory installed 112 pin that I removed. It shows the swelling that occurs during assembly.
