I just found out that back in '04, when Buck moved to Idaho, they made a knife that was a 110 frame, with two blades: a 110 and a 112 blade. I love the look of this pattern, and I'd like to get one for carrying.

Did Buck ever make one in regular production? I'd buy the on for sale, but I don't want to carry a nice commemorative.

thx - cpr

I haven't ever seen or heard of a production version of the Transition 110/112.

But, at least one of the forumites here has hand built at least one.

Maybe he will pop in and talk about it

The transition knife was a production knife. I'm not sure of the numbers, but they come up for sale from time to time on ebay. Here's one.

Mike, were any of these made without the blade etches and handle emblem?

Not that I'm aware of. My memory is not that good, but I think these were part of a special order for Smokey Mountain Knife Works or some other knife company.

I managed to pick up a custom and a production of the 110/112 and both have the transition blade etch. From my understanding, there are about 10 custom double auto 110/112's out there somewhere, too. I'd love one of them! :)

Looks like you already have a couple of those Clyde :D:thumbup:.

If those aren't yours, I gather you know who does some of those. If not, pm me.

Do those have a button on each side? I guess they would have to for each blade. Single or double?

A double auto 112 ??? ARG..... Sell KJ's riding lawnmower! I have one double 112..with a clip and a drop point..200.00 buckroooes But I love it. The double Bucks draw a lot of intrest because they are so rare..The one I bought was reported to be a Buck factory special order from a factory rep in the midwest But no COA came with it.The one with the engraved bolsters is the coolest I've ever seen! Great taste Clydetz...I'll trade you a trimmer fer it!

there were other factory issues as well as some made by/ for employees
one was a freedom knife with ronny reagon's quote about freedom
and it was a 110/112 combo
i have seen a two blade 110 as well as a 112 with the first and last blades
they made 1st and last in both the 110 and 112 blades and
have even seen 2002 issues with two blades
i mean after all were there are parts laying around the shop ...

well we all know what govt projects at work are dont we?
if not jest ask, some one will break the rules and tell you.. hee hee hee
after all it is all buck knife even if it was never in a cataloge!
