110 Alaskan guide info

i know it's the steel used on the alaskan guide....but i want to know,it is stamped on,painted or something..? :)
sorry my bad english!

hi dan
yes s30v and the bos logo is stamped in the same as the buck date codes only on the reverse side

Hi buckman#10 can you take picture of that? it is stamped Buck 110 (date code) on the left side and (Bos flame)S30V on the right side thanks

Yes, what Buckman#10 says. Sorry I misunderstood your inquiry Dan.

So far as the 110AG... You made a great choice. I feel safe in stating that it is one of the favorite 110 knives of the Buck Brothers here and quite a bargain. You will like it.

No problem Buckaholic :)

The resulting metal delivers the absolute finest combination of edge retention (45% greater than 420HC), flexibility and hardness (59-61 Rockwell) while remaining easy to sharpen with conventional stones......

I hope it's true! I buy it for that reason....while remaining easy to sharpen with conventional stones......

I need a 110 that i can sharpen with conventional stones

Dan ... while you can sharpen with conventional stones, you might have better luck with diamond abrasives (which you can get as "stones"). I'll bet a Norton India stone will work well too.

The 110AG in S30V is a good choice. The titanium coating allows for low friction cutting giving it a smooth slicing feel and greatly boost its stain resistant qualities as well as lateral blade strength. The plain rose wood handle doesn't match the blade however, so I had mine switched out for the FG w/ dark streak which looks and feels much better. The burgundy sheath is also first class. A fine package. DM
