I am thinking about trying a 110 as a neck knife. I was thinking that I might mod a leather 110 sheath and hang it from some para-cord. Anybody tried this already? If so how well did it work and was it comfortable to carry? Any tips or pointers before I start?
Basically I am just thinking about punching a couple of holes to run the para-cord through then cut off the flap. Make it an open top sheath. Maybe wrap it para-cord. This would be for woods walking trips, not as an edc.

I find most neck knives bother me after a while due to the weight. I think a 110 would bother me real quick due to the weight. Give it a shot though and let us know, may be a good fit for you.

Have you looked at the Bucklites? They are very tough knives and much lighter...

Maybe................................if you have a neck like one of these guys ;):

I have thought of a folding neck knife placed in a pouch under the shirt. I would use something thin like my early 70 Gerber folding sportsman. I think thin and light would be the way to go. The 110 is fairly heavy.

Thanks for the replies guys!:) Just stepped back in the house after a hour long or so off leash dog run with my fur kids back in the pasture. I experimented with the 110 neck knife idea by running some para-cord through the belt loop on a 110 sheath and wearing it around my neck for the trip. Like you guys suggested, kind of heavy. Not terrible, but not great either.
I do have a couple of older Bucklites, a 422 and a 426. Either one would probably be a better choice. I have been carrying a 102 Woodsman as a neck knife some lately on my outdoors/dog walking trips. It works pretty well and I really like the little 102. I was just thinking a folder might be another option worth trying.

I had never considered that carry option before but now I'm looking at my 422's with the lanyard hole a little differently now...
