When and why did the 110 blade shape change?I was looking at some new 110's tonite and they all had a much different blade shape, all the new ones look this was,the clip is less pronounced and looks shorter.Put any 110 like a 1995 110 and a new one side by side, you'll see the difference. The blades are shorter now as well, why change a good thing?

The new style is evident in all the custom shoip blades as well.Whatzs up?:thumbdn:

The only thing that resembles a 110 now on the new ones is the handle.

RB,

Can you post some photo's for our viewing and explain the difference you have observed?

I can't post pics here, just look at an older 110 next to a new one ,you'll see what i mean, they just have a different look ,wondering why they changed it is all.

I have noticed that the Alaskan Guide 110 and the BassPro Shop 110 are just a tiny bit shorter that my Custom Shoppe 110's (maybe 1/16" at the most), but I don't think that the blade shape of the 110 has changed.

I think Buck has changed the chamfer on the 110 blades. Early 110s were done by hand, but with newer 110s, I'm unsure as to how many steps are actually done by hand; especially when comparing factory runs against Custom Shoppe.

changes have been done to the 112 as well, as ive noticed
the older was better IMO, but the new one is good as well

I think the hollow grind is slightly deeper and there is the edge 2000 scarey sharp finishing which is all good.!.Length is the same as far as i've seen.Better slicers than in the past imo.

Could it be when they are sharpened that sometimes someone takes a little more off? I'm not sure. I have two Ag 110s and one is a hair longer but not much. I still think the 110 whether new or old is hard to beat for a EDC.

NEED MO CHANGE !
put a dang dot on it and we will still buy it..
we should get use to it ... it will be OK ...

Well, actually,I won't buy it,the newest 110 i got was a Idaho 110 and it still looked like a 110,now i'm limited to older knives and ebay knives i guess.

OK, I collect 300s, and I know this is sad to hear but I only have one 110. But, sometimes when the moon is full I go into a trance and wake up with a 112 in my hand. No blood just an empty mail cardboard box. So I just happen to have a couple of 112s and as a community service here is a photo. 300Bucks

olde to youngster top to bottom

This has been discussed before, with Joe Houser chiming in on why. When was also posted, but I don't keep records of the posts. If nobody else posts a pic of the two blades side by side, I'll post one later after work.

Not the best photo's but here are some.

thanks,I can't post pics maybe because i need to upgrade my membership?
RB you can set up a photo bucket account (its free) and link the images so they appear here.
I do it all the time.
Download the image to your photobucket then copy the images IMG code (listed right below the image) and paste that link here.
:)
