Have this 110 with the medallion.
The medallion is in crooked. Bugs the living sheet outta me.

Are those punched in? Glued in? Both?
Anyway to get it out w/o pry marks on it?

Want to get it straight.

...Not sure what it's made outa goose...but if it is metal you "could" heat the medallion only with an iron ( like fer ironin' socks and hankies ) to soften the adhesive ( if it's glued in ) and slowly rotate it back to "straight" because it sure wasn't born that way and "closets" are cold and dark if it embarrasses ya and you have it locked away from pryin' eyes...or you could send it my way and I'll chop it out and stick it back in with some Elmer's...or Eleanor's...or whatever that bull's girlfriend's name was...and then Joe could have a look at it...:D  :p

Marvin,

Just leave it as is and send that nasty blade etched and blade cut out knife to me ;). I know you don't like it anyway!!!

Hey Goose,
Could I convince you that the medalion actually follows the curve of the knife? Look at the bottom edge and look how it curves. The medalion is in line with that. Now do you feel better? :D

It ain't broke! Don't fix it! :grumpy:

CJ's own daughter, Sarah, set that medallion in that scale herself. She was happy with it. So should you be!

Thanks for the replies Buck Brothers.
Well, I think I will leave it as stuck. When I read the heat suggestion I was thinking about using a hair dryer...then I read about the wood getting hot.

I thought about sending it to John...but he'll engrave "Howard" on it and then it's my fault he'll be trolling the bars.

Mike, I thought it was the "follow the curve" gig too. But it's a bit off even if that was the case.

Trax, not knocking Sarah (who I didn't know did all those medallions). But I'm guessing after a brazillion or so of them maybe she skewed one. Even a kid making Cathy Lee sweaters or soccer balls all day can miss a stitch. I've seen these oakies and the reg laminate ones...I mean, how many did she do?

So, I guess I'll just leave it be.

Looks straight to me......'course, I just finished my nightly glass of wine.

LOL, I guess I'll crack open a Buddy Wiser.
Thanks for the grin.

Ain't a big thing in this world of our's. Just a pebble in the shoe.

Thanks all...

I took a quick look on an auction site and saw several 110 special projects with medallions that we have done over the years. None of them looked to be in the same orientation. I did see one that was oriented in a way where the medallion writting was parrallel to the table with the knife in the same position as yours. That one looked right, the rest looked crooked to me.
We drill a shallow hole in the inlay and glue the madallion in. If I remember right, on some of the projects the madallion came with adhesive already on them and on others we used our own glue.
If you send yours in, I "might" be able to rotate the medallion. What I am not sure of, is if I have any more of the medallions in case it gets buggered up. I doubt I have any more of the oak inlays either. It would be a gamble.
Not much of an answer and I apologise for that. I would chew Sarah out for this except that, contrary to popular belief, she has not worked out in the shop yet.

Thanks Joe. It's just a slight annoyance and I certainly wouldn't want to take up your time, or any Buck employee's time.

You're a great rep for Buck and I appreciate the offer and you.
But I know ya got bigger crappies to fry.

Hey Joe,
If you screw up the original medalion, maybe you can make one specially for Goose. I'm thinking maybe a small picture of a can of spam! Now that would be a collectible!  :D

I too have a 110 with a medallion inlay that looks "bad" to my eye. I was actually concerned when I received it that I had been taken. Your scales are much nicer than mine Goose.

Thar she blows!

Hey Goose, I don't get to pick and choose who I want to help but if I did, you would be on the list! :D
I wonder if I could get a medallion with a can-o-spam on it? How cool would that be!

Well don't pamper her!!! Get her out in the shop; get some dirt under her fingernails; make her earn a living by the sweat of her brows like the rest of us!!! :grumpy:

Then she'll get a real appreciation for the nice clean orderly, quiet life; cleaning clothes, ironing, dusting, washing dishes...all the things modern women loathe...but are still easier than *real* work... :p

Sarahb@buckknives.com... tell her yourself chicken, or are you chicken? :D :D
At the risk or sounding more chauvinistic than you, she IS, after all, a woman and smart men have learned that you don't TELL them anything. You ask politely and then cower.

She really is a sweet heart but don't let her know her uncle said that!

 ...I don't even want to see what Sarah's gonna do to you when she sees this thread...
