No ice fishing for me! I'll wait a few moths to get the boat out :D
Just keep posting those pics, it helps pass the time :D
I will have to try that this summer I have never had a "crappie" sandwich :D

Wow Jeff,

Nice idea......next time I'm out fishing I'm going to try that......A Buck 110 lure...just set the knife at the waters edge and the crappie jump out of the water to see the Buck close up ;). Nice mess of fish; they look like 3/4 pounders?

HA HA HA!!! That's good John!!!

Nice batch of crappies! My personal favorite to fish for in fresh water. We were spoiled down south in San Diego, you could catch them over 2 lbs. I got one stuffed that went just shy of 3. Our biggest up here so far is under a half pound but we are not done looking for where they hide!
I prefer a model 123 for cleaning them up.
Thanks for the picture!

Jim and John.

I am sorry I don't have a pic of the 17" er . I did not have a Dig
camera them. I have some pic's of some big ones if i can scan them.

Jim thanks for the pic's of the 123 cool knives.

John, 2 weeks agao the mail croppie started coming in to the shallow
water, this week the female's were here this week.Thy have to be 10"s
long state wide.So I have a 10" line marked on my boat and as long
as they are that long they go in the cooler.I haven't got and realy big ones yet . But I haven't given up either.

Jeff

Hell, when I was a kid catching them in off Benewah lake trestle just out of St. Maries Idaho, I would have killed to get a crappie as big as 10". 17" is just about unfathomable to me lol. The ones in that pic up top look to be about as big as I ever got.

At 17" you got me beat! I checked mine, which is stuffed and hanging here in my office, and it is right on 16".
Hey bigbcustom, I have heard of that spot! When I first moved here i asked eveybody where the crappie are and that trestle is supposed to be a hot spot. Cant wait to try it out!

By the way, the 122 was sold from 1983 through 1987. Its a nice little knife.

Jim, get rid of those useless old 122s & 123s, I've got a MisterTwister electric I'll trade you for all of 'em:p :D . My sons & I fish a local lake in Northern Virginia, we've had several white Crappie in the 15" to 18", and foot long blacks & whites on a regular basis. A 5 gallon bucket of them makes for a good fish fry.
