For the 110 experts on here.....how common are the 110 Demonstrator models? These have clear Lucite on one side of the knife in lieu of the bolsters and scale. Basically a sales tool to show the inner workings of Buck lockbacks.

Mine is a 4 dot 3 line model. Just curious how many 110 collectors have these?

I believe 334dave has one (maybe more)...IIRC, there is also a giant sized 110 demonstrator...

Some time ago, there was a thread on this concerning a Lucite-scaled 'demonstrator' on eBay...which looked suspiciously like a home brewed job that someone was looking to cash in on...I don't have the thread or pic handy, but I think it had both scales/liners in clear Lucite...

You gotta watch those sellers on eBay all the time!!! :grumpy:

Here are three. One clear on both sides, one on the left and one on the right.

The plant made a couple of different batches of about 20 each with just one side clear. Leroy Remer and others have made up some more on request. I have a set made by the plant with one side missing showing the various spring and spacer combinations going back to the first version.

hkingdom: what are the blade markings on your different versions? Nice collection you have there! It looks like the lower one in the pictures is a fairly recent version with the rounded off shoulders on the bolsters. Not sure what version number that would be....but know that started that in the early to mid 1980's, right?

Ron,
Your oak display box with the acrylic sides is the box that originally was offered with the pewter inlay 110s. One was called "Eagle Mountain" and I believe the second was "Deer Country". I could be wrong on the exact name as I do not have my reference material with me but I am positive it featured deer.

Clear on both sides is a two dot. Clear on the left is a four dot. Clear on the right is a two dot.

some newer ones have a blue tint if looked at edge wise
these dont tend to crack and dont scratch so much
many of the older ones have devloped cracks ..
one with cracks is normally a real older one as i understand..
some i have seen that are older did not have cracks
and many different verations made as reported..
