110 dropped or spear point?

Asking my second question of the day here... I have a Schrade LB7 that I like, recently aquired. It has a drop point. Did Buck ever do anything like that with the 110? With the amount of hunters who use this fine Buck, I'm surprized if not so. A dropped blade just makes it so much easier to gut a deer.

One of only 200. A few more have escaped the factory in other configurations but this is the one.

Tom, Welcome.I agree.Yes Buck made many at different times for that model.Bucklite,Selector and LE like the one Gordon shows.DM

Thank you. Very nice knife there! Well, I guess if there was a demand for dropped points, Buck would build them. But Schrade, too, made only a very limited supply of them. Much like what I see of this Buck, there is no nail nick on the Schrade, not really needed.

I'm out of touch on Bucks. A 110 liner lock?

May I also say to you Buck guys: What a nice sub-forum this is here on BFC. Friendly and knowledgable members. I have a great Buck Nighthawk that Chuck Buck signed for me back in 2002... Does his great spirit and way with people influence this Buck forum?

Thanks
Tom

if you look close you can see the liner lock
has the top of the blade running a stright line down to the point
i think this is more a spear point or a straight clip ?
and the stag one has a curved top line to the point as a pure drop point..

Very purty 110!
:thumbup::thumbup:

Maybe Buck should keep the 111 in production and put THAT blade in it.
That way it would be different enough from the 110 to keep in production.
I'd buy a regular production 111 (or 110 or 112) with that blade style!
:)

Was the original liner lock described as a spear point or modified clip?

Yes, Scott I too would call it a modified clip. But when you start classifing some of these shapes there is bleed over.
Yes, I too think Chuck,Joe and CJ are just dandy andy.DM

There were 350 liner locks made if I remember correctly. The first 100 had "Limited Production" engraved on the right side of the blade. All had aqua inlays. Wilde Bill Cody also made a few 110 liner locks from production 110s with the standard clip blade and obeche inlays.
