So I took a gamble and got this beauty for 17$:):):)
I LOVE those blurry pictures and terrible descriptions...
listed as "with some scratches" ... the scratches were some tape residue on the blade:)
5th VER - VAR 3..... still has what appears to be the factory edge...
I'm lovin' the 110's :D

When did Buck stop honing the edges????

That is a nice one. I've picked up a couple of items the way you described. Somtimes you win, sometimes you lose. Looks like a winner this time.

Thanx guys, I've found that with so many of YOU GUYS "eyes on the Bay" ya gotta gamble
to find some of the good ones :D

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Looks like you gained real nice.

That knife is in terrific shape! Nice find and I like your strategy.
I once got a first version 110 box, along with a 4 dot knife and a stone, for a song because the picture focused on the knife and the box was in the background and blurry. I could barely make out that it was a 2 piece box.

Those early 110's used to come with a note that gave instructions on how to hone the edge to razor sharpness. I havent seen enough of the oldies complete in their boxes to figure out when they stopped doing that but it seems to have been in the 60's.

Thanx Joe,
I just cleaned her up from the buffing wheel and it is gleaming like new:)
The sheath looks like it went through a war, and the knife is hardly used at all.
Will post pics tomorrow...
