Both of these 110’s look great. I like the nickel silver bolsters on the Hunter Pro but I’m wondering if they tarnish easily. Which would you choose?

For me I don't find that NS tarnishes as brass does. I'm Colorado where it's drier than the mid west or either coast. I also think that a person's chemically make up contributes to tarnishing metals. I like both, but the NS and black G10 is striking.

yes nickel silver tarnishes easily. not quite as easily or fast as brass, but it does. just a different coloring when it does.

the cf limited is lightweight since it's aluminum. the nickel silver pro is heavy. cf one has a pocket clip, regular pro doesn't. have to carry it on a belt sheath. while they are similar models, least in name, not blade shape and features.......they are really very different. look at features you'd want and not want and the choice for you will be very obvious.

I like both equally for different reasons myself. lean towards cf as I like pocket clips.

In my opinion , the 110 is about as iconic as you can get in the knife world. I had a wood and brass one back in the 80’s when I was a youngster. I’d like to avoid the tarnish-prone brass this time around. I’m leaning toward the Limited with the aluminum and CF.

Is this the 2021 Legacy model with take-a-part construction?

I just ordered the 2021 Legacy model and it will, hopefully, be here by Friday.
I'll post some pics when I receive it.

The key advantage to the Buck 110 Pro is that it has the "real" Buck 110 blade profile. The materials and overall design other are interesting, but the blade shape is a non-starter for me.

I have a few aluminum frame 110's and really like them.
Solid and lightweight. Sorta the best of both worlds.
I like the shape of the blade on the legacy knife. The clip and thumb stud are a bonus. So I guess I see myself grabbing one before the year is over.

I have a SK Blades "The Gentleman" Buck 110. It is equipped with NS bolsters and liners, black G10 covers.
I've not noticed any tarnish/patina on the bolsters, even when storing the knife in the "distressed" leather sheath it came with, or a standard Buck leather sheath when I'm not carrying it.

I'm in South Central Idaho, if that makes a difference.

My 301's with NS bolsters do get dull/not shiny when I carry them. never had a NS bolster on any knife (including Rough Rider/Rough Ryder, and offshore Schrade) change color, they just get not shiny and stop collecting finger prints and smudges. (a "plus" in my book.)

you see the corrosion and color changes on this knife. I can show every nickel silver I have is the same. ones I carry and use that is. ones that sit on my shelf not so much cause I dont touch them and the sheath doesn't touch them. same applies to my brass ones on the shelf though.

Everybody's body chemistry(perspiration, oils, etc.) is different and effects the knife's metal parts differently. I worked with a lady that could not wear any type of metal jewelry, including gold. She was unique to say the least.

true, but my point is more that nickel silver does change color and corrode. to say it doesn't is not correct. we want to be accurate with information given out here, so I had to point out that nickel silver does over time much like brass just not as quickly or as much, but it does. they both are copper based metals.

gold, wow, now that is a weird one there. whats she do to it or whats it do to her, when wearing it?

Yes, we want to be correct...and you are, both will tarnish.

She said it irritated her, sometimes causing a rash, I never saw any. I really not sure she was all that truthful about everything especially the gold. I taught with her, when she'd bring her class for art, she was most always late and I would give her a bad time...telling her to get a watch. She'd laugh and say she can't wear one because they stop and won't run. Something about her body chemistry/wave length, couldn't wear jewelry, etc. Of course there were clocks everywhere, like I said unique=kooky, whatever...
