The info I have says that the four dot 110's were made from around '82 to '85. I believe that they had 425M steel blades. There are folks that will be along later I'm sure that can correct this if my memory has failed me again.

I don't think the knife in the pictures will bring much in the condition it's in. I bought a new in the box four dot a few weeks ago for less than $50.

Roughly worth $14.50, maybe a dollar or two more.

Clean it up and use it. It's a great knife.

These knives certainly have been well used and in need of alittle maintenance .
But to me it looks like a 3 dot; mfg. from 1980 into 81, blade 440C and macassar ebony handles . Value in the current condition maybe 15-20$ . It has pin damage as well so less 10$ . DM

I'm going to agree with the opinion stated in the post above by plumberdv that it is a 4 dot...here's my reasoning - my old 3 dot blade, and an old 2 dot blade...

The 3 dot has the single dot on the left side...

Buck, Leroy, or several of the manglers here could buff it out for you and sharpen the blade for a nominal sum...then it would look much nicer and be worth a lot more...More than a new Wal-Mart 110, IMHO...The blade steel is more "premium" than what Buck offers now...(again, my opinion - usually not shared by anyone else here)... :D

The third dot denotes the addition of the blade pivot bushing.

my data agrees with 110's.. i believe it was a late year change..
and was used for less then a year before the 4 dot steel change
suposly the 4 dot was the start of the full semi hallow grind
but the 3 dot 111 classic has a full hollow grind ..
so
is it possible that any over laping production with
110 three dot blades with a full hollow grind ?!?!?!
i have only seen 3 dot 110's with the old semi hollow thick edge grind
but i feel they could be out there for some reason..
and if so? would they would be rare version we need to add ?
has any one ever seen one?

Thanks Dave . I didn't think it was the bushing but I couldn't find in my notes why so, I was forced to keep silent . My wife would say,"a good thing" .
Then I'll agree w/ Trax that 425M is a upgrade steel .
Caine, Can you give us the story on these knives (the 500 as well) as to how they reached this condition ? Its interesting to see both 440C and 425M with this much rust .
I know Georgia's climate is hard on steels . DM
