Hey guys,

I'm a happy camper today. I won an inverted 2 liner last week and all I had to go on was these pics

I have been nervous to what it would look like up close and what the other side looked like. It came today and I cant believe it but there isnt a scratch on it either bolster, blade or scales. Nearly perfect mint. Eddie Bauer sheath for something came with it but is too big for anything but my Csar

Here are some pics

Intersting that the rivots protrude inside the liners-I assume thats normal for this vintage?

Thanks for looking:)

Ima, Nice find ! Maybe Third version, v8 . I've not seen one where the scale rivets protude inside the blade well . Tell us about the butt rivets . How many and are they visible on both sides ? Thanks DM

Thanks Armand and Dave.

Dave, there is only one visible butt rivot-left side lower. Pivot can only bee
seen on left side. Well I take that back-gotta look real hard to see right side.
I dont think it can be 3rd version cause it has upper case USA. Other than the one butt rivot
I'd say 4th version 1st var.

Ok, you can tell more looking at it than I can in a picture . DM

Yeah sorry DM, I still havent employed 300's photo strategies even though I keep saying I will. I was looking for a magnifying glass last night to check
for butt rivots cause it just dont make make any sense that it wouldnt have 2 visible on each side for that version. As far as I can tell by Joes data sheets, there was only one year that had one visible rivot and it was 3rd version 1st variation in '67. The only way that would make sense is if this knife was rebladed, but it would also have had to be rescaled cause no inlay rivots in that version. That may explain the protruding rivots inside liners but the bolsters and liners seem to be in perfect shape so how would a blade get broken and need replaced on a knife that is in all other ways in perfect shape?

Thanks 110dave anb Scott

Well......whatever it is, you done good. I remember looking at that one and I can't remember why I didn't bid on it.....just got distracted with other things, I guess......and I think I was turned off by the poor pictures to a certain extent.

You took a little gamble and won big on this one.

Could it have been a lunch hour buildout?

Nice knife. I wonder if those rivets were left that way by mistake? They don't look peened at all?

I don't have any 2-liners to compare.

I have this one and a 112 2 liner and both of them had origin questions, dont know whether thats good or bad:confused:. I'm just glad those rivots dont touch the blade. I'm hoping Joe or CJ stop by and give some input.

A few is Right ! As in forty and a few . DM

Yeah:D thats what I told him and he couldnt believe it-I thought he might guess 10-15 years but was surprised when he guessed justa few.

He dont know anything. He got a beautiful AG Crosslock for a groomsman gift from his brother and doesnt carry it-just has it on top of a dresser collectin dust. The snap on the sheath broke shortly after he got it just from opening it up-told him to send it in-he doesnt care.
