Usual two dot? Two dot is same as the newer stamps. Just year designations.

Yup... lot of evolutions in the knives and blades.

Preferable = personal preference.

Two dot is older and may be more collectible.

seller says itsa pre 85??
whatcha think???

I'm new to the whole Buck knife thing. I am a machinist and realy interested in the BG grade blades. Are they expensive?? and hard to come by?
which knife was advertised cutting the bolts in half????

okay.........now I see a / slash and a reverse of that or what we call a back slash next to the 110 number on the blade. What does all of this mean????

If your refering to the Buck made knives with BG42 blade steel . Expensive ? Well, likely over 100$ . Hard to come by ? Yes but available on the bay from time to time .
Which knife cut the bolts ? I'm fairly sure the original one was a 104 from 1947 made during H.H. Buck's time . Those model numbers were all changed around 1961 and the knives as well . But the closest one to it available today is the Buck 119 Special . Hope this helps . DM

Last time I looked, they were $34 at our wal mart. A little more at Academy and Gander Mt.
