First off this is not a bashing thread, I love Buck knives especially the 110. I decided when the Lochsa limited edition knife became available that I would pick one up as it was quite different than any other 110 in my collection.
Received the knife the other day and initial impression was quite positive, pretty cool 110 and thanks to Biggerjon's Youtube video was able to open it with the thumb stud quit easily.
However on closer inspection a couple concerns popped out, one is the lock bar is not flush with the knife closed, while few of my 110's are perfect none is off to this degree, raised in the back and down in the front. It is fine with the blade open.
The other concern is at the thumb area at the back it looks like they slipped when grinding the covers and took a small chunk out of the cover.
Here are a few pictures,I trust you all, if you think I'm being too picky I'll just use it as is, otherwise I think this will be the first Buck I have to send back.

If you look above the anvil in the belt clip you can see the fault with the grinding of the cover

Ouch!

IMHO both issues are cosmetic and don't abrade function. Looks like a 2nd stringer. Does the box have the "FACTORY BLEM" sticker on it?

Can you please email/pm me with your supplier for this folder (email sent).

Email received, thank you Augie.

I cannot find the sold listing for you vendor and that knife. I was hoping to find the original listing for your knife. I cannot find that vendor at all. Do they use a different name for an auction?

OK thank you. I have done business with them (nothing lately, however) and can vouch for them.

Augie,

This is a limited edition knife and as such you paid a premium price for it. Send it back for replacment, take it from me you will never be happy with that knife.....ever!

I agree with jb. Don't wait!! Either return it to the vendor or call Buck direct. In fact call Buck either way. It's not a $35 110 it's a LE! Their contact information is on their website. You will love the knife when it's right.

If you decide to return it I wouldn't do anything to it but if you are thinking of keeping it you might try cleaning the pivot out really well with hot water and some dish soap then blow it our really well and oil it. The lockbar might be sticking up a little due to crud/buffing compound. Even if that fixes the issue I'd still be tempted to return it due to the gouge in the scale.

Just looked at your pics again and now I'm thinking if it's crud in the pivot it seems like it the lockbar would be higher near the pivot, not the butt end. Still might be worth a try but only if you're keeping it. Not sure it would be ethical to try anything before you ship it back but then again, it's not like you're taking it apart or anything just cleaning.

I've e-mailed Buck warranty and attached the pictures, will wait until I hear from them. I don't think it has anything to do with crud, the blade works smoothly and everything feels positive, I'm pretty sure one of the angles just was not filed or fit completely.
Not trying to offend but I'm not going to mention or e-mail the seller to anyone else, the knife arrived in a factory sealed box same as others I have received from the Custom Shop, the seller had 4 or 5 of them and did not take them out of the box for individual pictures. I feel this is more of a problem with Buck than the seller.

In my experience Buck warranty will meet your highest expectations.

I would not even consider keeping that knife.

I think that is one quality control at Buck needs to see.

The lockbar would really bother me. I dont think I could keep that one. Sweet looking knife other than the issues though.

That really sucks. I will also state that you should send it in.

This is a knife worthy of being loved. It should meet your fit n finish needs to be able to be loved.

That one should not have left us. We will get it right for you if you have sent it in. If not send it in to my ATTN and I will ensure it gets back to you right. I will review this with our shop.
