110 Micarta question

Hi All,

I have a question about the Micarta on my BOTM 08-20. Maybe any of you knows about this issue. The more I carry the knife the more the Micarta seems to wear in a particular way. As if there is some sort of micro film layer coming off. In fact there is no layer visible and I can't feel it either with my fingers. Is there a way to deal with this and is the issue familiar ? Thanks for thinking with me. (p.s. my iPhone camera makes it look worse compared to reality)

Looks almost like it's drying out, you could try oiling it some.

Can’t help you with your query but I like the way it looks either way.

Micarta comes polished or unpolished. Yours was polished and that polish is wearing off and returning to its natural unpolished state. I have several polished micarta knives that look just like this. I let them go because I don't know how to polish micarta or remove it. Also, I like the look of wear like a patina on a carbon steel blade. It's not a defect. I don't know if Buck would repolish it but it might be worth a call to find out.

A little mineral oil will help even out the color.
