There's a shop on Ebay selling what it calls a limited edition 110 with black micarta scales, polished blade. They are numbered through 50. When were these made?

November of 2004, from what I was told.

The seller had them made up and numbered, pretty good selling point, but I don't think they're as valuable as he leads you on that they are. Any of us could order 110s like that... and with an order of 50, Buck would make you a great deal.

The thing that confuses me is the fact that micarta is not one of the options in the custom shop, so where did he get the 110's with black micarta scales? Or is it really something other than black micarta?

Thanks for the replies. I know, I wish it were an option at the custom shop. I don't see why it wouldn't be. I'd think there be some interest and stocking a little wouldn't be a big cost.

The kind people at BKI have been known to use scale materials other that those offered through the custom shoppe, They will bend over backwards to please regular customers. :) I know for a fact that other 110s have been done in black micarta. The last one I saw had a BG42 blade, now that would be worth owning.

I would particularly like to have a 11o with black micarta scales to match my old 112 with black micarta. :)
