110 Mystery Pin?

Clearly an oddity, as HolyRoller suggested it may be something that got pressed into the wood.
I think it is too uniformly round to be spatter but can't say.
Looks like a knife that deserves a day at the spa.

I am going with a pin.
As much as I could blow up the image, looking at each end of the knife where the wood meets the bolsters it looks like the wood is off a tad on each end, or the glue they used in those days has bled over onto the bolsters a bit.
If there was an alignment issue I could see a pin helping the wood seal to the knife.
I doubt seriously Buck would have let that one out of the shop like that, but could have been an out of shop adjustment.
If someone send it in, I would suggest asking them not to change it... Is unique....
And the pins will show looking down into the knife.................. if it is a pin,,

I think it’s a pin put in trying to repair loose wood.

I think i see a little space were the wood meets the brass, and the brass pin closest to it looks a little proud of the wood

Not a pin. I don't think Buck would have put a headless, flush, nickel silver pin on a knife that already had headed brass pins on it. I can't see that a tiny pin in that spot would accomplish anything useful. If it is a pin, I think it likely happened sometime after it was purchased.

That's smaller than any pin I have seen Buck use..But I don't think it is a factory fix. So it's not some great rarity worth a ton of money. DEFINITELY the way to go is to send it in for a Spa and maybe add a note for Buck to take a look at it.
