110 Pivot bushing function!?

Does the pivot bushing on a Buck 110 function the same as the pivot bushing in a Sebenza? In other words, is the bushing slightly wider than the thickness of the blade stock, allowing Buck to press the parts together while controlling the amount of clearance?

I'd like to make a definitive post on this thread:

For a pic of the Sebenza bushing, see this thread:

I'm just wondering whether a 110 available for a little over $20 has a much touted feature some seem to think is more or less unique to Sebenzas, which start at $330. Don't get me wrong -- I love my Sebenzas too.

Thanks!

I'd like to add my own questions...

I've opened up several old and new Buck 110's, and the older ones have "floating" bushings, while the newer ones are pressed in place...After pressing & expanding the new pins, they all seem to work correctly...

Is this just worn parts (on the older 110's)??? Should they *all* be pressed in place in the blade??? Or did Buck change the way the blade pivots somewhere along the line???

(BTW: Nice pic of a disassembled 110!) :D

This doesn't really have anything to do with this, but the Microtech LCC has the brushings as the Sebenza. That would be cool if the 110 does as well!

Chickentrax -- yes, thanks for not being mad that I stole your great pic. ;)

The Sebenza bushing "floats" if I understand you correctly. If the Buck doesn't, then the Buck doesn't work the same way. So the pressed in bushing on the new 110s doesn't rotate within the hole in the blade?
