Hi all, I just need to clarify something. I really don't believe it myself but is the 110 now made in China. I went into king of knives yesterday just to have a look around, anyhow I noticed the 110 was cheaper then a 55. When I asked about it the woman said it was because the 110 was made in China.

Then she told someone else that Victorinox was the kitchenware branch of Wenger and you couldn't get Victorinox swiss army knives anymore, only Wenger.

Neoflare, Welcome mate. The 110's are without a doubt made in USA and no place else. I've been to the factory and seen it and heard the answer to that question. As for the Victorinox I cannot comment for I don't know. DM

David, thanks for clearing that up mate, it's what I figured. The Victorinox statement was another reason why I didn't believe her about the 110.

A.P.F thankyou, I know, I really had told hold my tongue when I heard her saying that. To make things worse she's apparently the store manager. As far as I'm concerned they should at least know something about what they're selling.

To the best of my knowledge Buck continues to manufacture the 110 in USA. They have a budget range that's M. in C. but it does not include the 110.

I think you'll find that V bought out W and not the other way around. Both still make SAK's. There was a rumour about the S Army contract going offshore (China?) but I'm sure that is just a rumour. IMO the W SAK's are better than the V's anyway but the difference is marginal.

They must hire from the same labor pool as here.

Take care, M8.

Avoid King of Thieves, anything you buy there will be wildly overpriced.

The people that work there are just whatever person turned up for the store assistant job, or the store owners grandmother or suchlike.

Buy your knives online from somebody like www.newgraham.com
