I remember when I broke the tip of my 110.Doesn't fell good :(
Maybe you could send it to Buck and have a new 420 HC blade on it ?

We have a custom shop where there are different steels available for a 110... if not the carbon you wanted. As to the blade shape and what the costs would be you need to work on that with Joe.

Hi CJ,

Are you stating that a 110 blade can be up-graded to a premium steel from the Custom Shop? Please provide a clarification to the above comment.

Thank you
John

can you pm me his contact info?

OK...I have had a discussion with Joe and here's the deal...we tried to do this in the past and it did not work because there are many slight variations in blade and rocker shape over the years and each blade would have to be custom fit to ensure proper action(which you do not want to pay for and we can not do for free)...so I was wrong.

Here is the solution...if you have a knife that has failed we will fix it or replace it with a new one in 420HC. If you desire a custom 110 in another blade material you can order that from the custom shop because we can match blade shape with a current rocker etc...

Sorry for the confusion.

JHouser(at)buckknives(dot)com would be a good email..
up grades while really really nice for us do not always work well as it takes steels from being avabile for custom shop orders..

if it is some thing that you really really want a sheep's foot blade in a 110 frame
you should contact Leroy Remer at tripple-r-knives ..
while not cheep he is one of the best..
there are some formites that have put hawk bill blades in a 112 frame that worked well..
likely as close as you can get..

John,
I think he thought that thats what he was stating...but I told him otherwise.
So in other words, we do not offer the blade swap service anymore, or still. :)
I'm sorry about that to. It was such a great service when it worked out but it just did not work out all the time for a variety of reasons.
Vance,
You can send me an email at jhouser@buckknives.com, I would be happy to help.
If you want to see what options are available if you want to build a custom 110, you can take a visit to the Buck web site buckknives.com and click on the custom knife shop.

One time there was a thread on broken tips and how they happened. How did you break that much of the tip off?

it happened the same time my dryer broke
:foot:

Don't sweat it Vance, we all have used a knife as the "wrong" tool at one time or nother. Just head over to Wally and for less than $30 drive out, they will fix you right up.

the great thing is once you break off that tip they really do make great screwdrivers from then on...
