I have an old 110 from the 1940s that belonged to my grandfather and it's rusted quite a bit and the wood is semi-rotten. Would the forever warranty apply here? I wanted to get everything refurbished and an S30V blade put in so I could give it to my father as a Christmas present. Any help is appreciated!

Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news is you can send it in and they will replace the blade for you. The bad news is they won't give you the upgraded steel blade. Also, the 110 wasn't introduced until the 60's. Either way, it sounds like you have an oldie-Goldie on your hands. Can you post some pictures of it?

Yes…..pictures!! :)

Take some closeups of the butt end of the rear bolster, the stamp, the scales and just the knife in general and someone here can nail down an approximate date. Sometimes you need to see how many bolsters pins are showing and on which sides of the bolsters, but those can be very hard to see at times too. That's mostly for the 2nd and 3rd version 110's which covers the years from 1967 to 1970 approximately.

You can date it yourself without pictures posted here. Do it from the sticky of 110/112 date codes at the top of the Buck forum page. Here; http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/612901-revised-110-112-data-sheet-as-of-gt-5-1-08

I think I see one dot on each side of the stamp.

Cool! your knife is made 1974-1980. Some members think these were some of the best years made. You may want to keep the blade and just have it refurbished like you say. Phone Buck and talk to a rep. They are very friendly and are always willing to help the best they can.

You better jump on it if you want it back in time for Christmas.:)

I carry a two dot 110 almost everyday. I just got a vantage though so it's getting in on the rotation too.
