Does anyone know of any club newsletter articles or any threads here that provide information on the different 110 sheath styles, variations, etc.? I know there are several styles over the years with the way the belt loop is attached, straight sheath opening versus the lowered front opening, etc., but it would be helpful if we had a thread with photos and a timeline for the different versions.

Differentiating between the different colors and who made what might be too daunting of a task but a basic reference would sure be handy to see if a particular knife and sheath combo is correct or, for those times when one runs across either item separately and you have no idea what pairs with what?

I asked Joe once about the sheaths, dating them, and he said there was nothing written? DeSoto, DM, Gedlicks, Preston may know...

I remember in the eighties the finger groove 110’s came in a brown sheath. Until the last ten years or so ago I think all the 110 sheaths had the loop.

I’ve seen photos of some sheaths where they are only stitched on one side so that the bottom of the sheath comes to kind of a point. They look similar to the sheath for my 550 King Charles, picture below. When were these type of 110 sheaths made and why the change, which was apparently a short one.

Ed, I know, in past years, there have been threads and discussions about the various sheath styles and time lines. Sometimes associated with discussions about boxes and paperwork. Buck has to have ordered tens of thousand of them over the years and not paid attention to what box, knife or other changes took places making it real hard to nail anything down to anything. I have many different sheaths but don't know what knife or time period to link them to. Preston

Preston,

The middle sheath in your photos is the one I was inquiring about. Very different shape and belt loop compared to a standard 110 sheath.

The rear of my 550 sheath is the same other than it does not have the model number stamped on it.

Is the flap on your 110 sheath the same as this one?

If I can find my notes on the 550 King Charles it might shed some light on the 110 version then again it might not. We all know what Buck does to one product doesn’t always apply to another. Thanks for posting those photos Preston.

I really like those fold over sheaths with the stitching on one side that you guys are showing. I had a burgundy one that fit my 112, but it got hooked on something and tore the leather where the belt loop was stitched. The model number isn't marked, and I've not been able to find another one.

Have @Makael make you one. It doesn't look like it would be to hard.
