110 Sheaths?

I had not a clue until you asked.... but since I happen to have both readily at hand, I tried. The 110 is loose in the pouch, which makes sense at the Alpha is a thicker knife in the scales. The flap will close, but needs to be stretched to snap. Now I am using a standard 110FG in a nylon sheath from a 279(Rubber Handle). Trying the 110 in a leather sheath from a 276 Alpha I again find the 110 is loose, almost "rattles" in the pouch and I am not able to snap the flap as the leather doesn't stretch as the nylon did.

Hope this helps.... And just out of curiousity, why the question???

I like the design of the leather Alpha Hunter sheath(and just placed an order throught Buck because the website states that the sheath will work for the 110. :( ). I guess I'll have to apply a leather conditioner to make the leather more flexible.

KWilliams, try this. Go to home depot or a similar store and get the self adhesive felt they sell to line the bottom of lamps, jewelry boxes, etc, it's about $3 for a square foot. The adhesive on the back is very sticky and it works well. Cut a couple of strips and line the front and back of the inside of the sheath. Not only will it make the sheath tighter but the felt will polish your knife.
Good luck.

Dave, What a GREAT IDEA!!!! While I don't need to adjust the fit of my sheaths, I really like the idea of the felt to help polish the metal everytime I use my knife. - THANKS!!!!!

A nice idea, using felt. But a word of caution: if you line the sheath with felt, make sure your knife is clean when you put it away. I think the felt will trap any dirt or grit (moreso than leather alone) and maybe you will wind up with scratches not a polish (especially if the fit is tight). What do you think?

instead of trying to get a sheath thats not made for the 110 to fit contact my friend lifter4him and have him do you up a great 110 sheath.i have two and they are as nice as the day i got them

I already did. He made a horizontal sheath for me. It should arrive soon. :)

My horizontal sheath made by lifter4him arrived today. The fit and craftmanship are perfect. Thanks Dave!

It was my pleasure KW, I am glad you like it. The 110 is one of my favorite knives to make sheaths for, to me it's the classic knife.
Thanks for the recommendation,YITERP.
